France, Europe · Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé · 100% Chardonnay
The only grand cru white of Chambolle: a Chardonnay of almost unreal precision, made in tiny quantities.
Delivered in ~30 minutes, anywhere in Monaco
Musigny is famous for reds, yet on a few rows of this legendary hill Domaine de Vogüé grows Chardonnay, and almost nobody else may do so. For twenty years these grapes were sold under a modest label while the young vines matured; only recently has the wine again carried its true name. Expect ripe lemon, hazelnut and a cool touch of stone, with a honeyed depth that unfolds slowly. It is one of the rarest whites of Burgundy, and it tastes like it.
The sommelier’s note
«Open it a good half hour ahead and do not serve it ice cold: at cellar temperature it shows why collectors chase it. One bottle, one evening, no distractions.»
From the first pour to the last glass — follow it through the evening.
On arrival
Stand the bottle upright and let it rest from the journey. Aim for 12 degrees, a little cooler than the room.
20 min · First pour
The first glass is bright and mineral: lemon, a cool stony edge, a hint of hazelnut behind.
45 min · The opening
With air, the texture turns creamy and a honeyed depth appears. This is the moment the wine was made for.
75 min · Last glass
Slightly warmer now, it lingers for a minute after each sip. Keep the last glass for quiet conversation.

HazelnutOur sommelier’s pairings — and the dishes from our restaurants that bring them to life, delivered with your wine.

«A roast farm chicken or guinea fowl becomes a feast next to this wine, simple food raised to its level.»

«Comté or an aged Beaufort echo its hazelnut notes beautifully.»
«A delicate fish lets this rare white speak: the wine brings the richness, the fish brings the silence.»

«Turbot or salmon in a gentle sauce match its weight, and its freshness keeps every bite lively.»

«Lobster and langoustine love this kind of luxury: creamy texture against sweet, tender flesh.»
