Bordeaux, France · Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste · Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot
The purists' Pauillac, known simply as GPL: pure cassis drawn with a ruler, built for decades.
Delivered in ~30 minutes, anywhere in Monaco
Ask a Bordeaux purist for the truest Pauillac and they will often just say GPL. Grand-Puy-Lacoste has changed almost nothing for generations: one great terroir, Cabernet first, no fashion. The 2020 is textbook: pure cassis, cedar and a peppery snap, tannins upright and fine. It will live for thirty years, and after a long decant it already explains why people wait.
The sommelier’s note
«Ninety minutes decanted if you can wait, 17 degrees. Serve with the best simple beef you can find.»
From the first pour to the last glass — follow it through the evening.
On arrival
Decant immediately and forget it for an hour: GPL rewards discipline.

70 min · The opening
A buttery pastry note softens the classicism: the hidden GPL charm.
