Mexico, North America · Don Julio · 100% Blue Agave
The añejo that changed how the world drinks tequila: warm vanilla and caramel, made to be sipped like cognac.
Delivered in ~30 minutes, anywhere in Monaco
Created for the 60th anniversary of Don Julio González's first distillery, 1942 became the bottle that taught the world to sip tequila slowly. Blue agave grown high in Jalisco, patient roasting, and long ageing in oak give warm vanilla, caramel and roasted agave sweetness with a silky finish. It arrives in its tall, sculpted bottle: instantly recognisable at any table.
The sommelier’s note
«Serve neat at room temperature in a tulip or snifter glass, no ice and no lime: this is sipping tequila in its purest form.»
From the first pour to the last glass — follow it through the evening.
The pour
Pour a measure into a snifter and let it sit two minutes: the aromas need a moment to gather.
5 min · First sip
Vanilla and caramel first, then roasted agave underneath. Small sips, long pauses.
20 min · The finish
The last sips turn silky with a faint oak smoke. This is why 1942 ends celebrations everywhere.
